O'Steen Public Beach Access

O_Steen Public Beach Access

The O’Steen Public Beach Access is unknown to many, making it a great place for those looking for a bit more seclusion. One reason crowds are lighter on this part of the beach is because the parking is limited. There is, however, parking available for those willing to walk a little bit out of the way. There are also beachgoers dropped off by a Harborwalk Village shuttle.

This park is free to the public, and offers a shower and bike rack at the top of the access. This facility has no restrooms or shelters. Close to this access is another popular one called Norriego Point just up the harbor. Norriego often attracts a larger crowd, so depending on what you are looking for on your beach day you have two great options!

Extended seclusion can be found by walking toward the jetties, which are the larger stacks of rocks. Walking in either direction of the access will provide you with new scenery and adjusting crowds.

Before heading to the beach, know the surf conditions by taking note of the colored flag system.

Double red flags mean the water is closed for swimming due to powerful rip currents that can sweep even the strongest swimmers out to sea. Stay safe, check today’s conditions on our Beach Safety page.
