Labor Day Along the Emerald Coast - Stay & Save!

If you haven’t planned your Labor Day along the Emerald Coast, you’re missing out! Labor Day is a day of rest and what better place to relax than along the soft white sand beaches of South Walton and Destin, Florida? With the calming sound of waves lapping the shore and chorus of seagulls in the distance, you can send your worries out to sea and let the warm coastal breezes soothe your soul.

And after a day on the beach, keep your worries at bay by enjoying some of the local events and entertainment. Here’s some of the fun activities that the Emerald Coast has planned for Labor Day weekend 2014:

Red, White and Blue Celebration, August 28, at HarborWalk Village. Enjoy live entertainment, free kid’s crafts and face painting, and a WWII replica flyover.  The evening is topped off by a spectacular fireworks display over the Destin Harbor at 9 p.m.

Greek Festival, August 29 - 31, at the Emerald Coast Convention Center on Okaloosa Island. This annual event celebrates all things Greek—food, music, dancing, traditions and products. This is your chance to eat baklava and be merry at the Greek Festival!

Labor Day Weekend Celebration, August 30 - 31, 2014, at HarborWalk Village in Destin. Each evening, the Destin Harbor will be filled with family activities, and free concerts. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will feature live concerts with fireworks at 9 p.m.

Concerts in the Village - Almost Styx, August 31, at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village (off Commons Drive near WalMart). Bring a picnic, wine and lawn chairs or blanket and enjoy live music on the Village Green. The tribute to Styx will have you groovin’ to your favorite Styx hits from the 70’s and 80’s. Performance starts at 7 pm. (admission is $20 and kids under 12 are free.)

Baytowne Art Walk, August 29-31, at Sandestin Village of Baytowne Wharf. Each evening, you’ll be greeted with live music and streets filled with local and regional artists showcasing their impressive works of art. Baytowne Art Walk is from 5-10 p.m. nightly.

Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam, Aug. 29-31, at Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach. This three-day concert features the best of today’s country music and all-time favorites, including Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Big & Ri9ch, Randy Houser, Cassadee Pope and many more.
