Labor Day in Destin is Divine

We were recently reminded that celebrating Labor Day in Destin, Florida is an annual tradition for many. The three-day weekend signifies the end of summer, and there is no better place to enjoy one last summer celebration than along the sugar white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast.

Many guests tell us they plan their Labor Day trip to Destin each year for good reason. If they don't, they find themselves doing chores around the house instead of taking time to relax, which is what this holiday is all about.

Labor Day in Destin is punctuated with lounging on the beach, relaxing poolside with an ice cold beverage and spending quality time with family and frends before the demands of fall kick in. As an added benefit, Labor Day in Destin is filled with fun events and activities. Here’s a few highlights:

Labor Day Celebration at HarborWalk Village– Families will enjoy family activities, free concerts and fireworks at HarborWalk Village.  On Saturday, Sept. 5, The Village Belles and Longreef will perform live from the pavilion. On Sunday, Sept. 6, live music continues and fireworks show follows at 9 p.m.

Labor Day Weekend Concert at Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village – On Sunday, Sept. 6 Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation presents the Heather Hayes Experience. Daughter of music legend Isaac Hayes, Heather Hayes is bringing her 11-piece band to perform a vibrant mix of R&B, soul and funk. The high energy show has gotten great reviews around the country for great vocals, stunning costumes and an incredible horn-section.

Baytowne Art Walk– From Friday through Sunday, the Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin hosts its annual Baytowne Art Walk, featuring local and regional artists displayed throughout the Village each evening along with live music from 5-10 p.m.
