For healthy travelers, here are our suggestions on ways to protect your family and enjoy a Destin vacation:

car with mom

Travel by car and limit contact with other travelers.

This seems obvious but the less contact you and your loved ones have with others during your travels to the beach the better. Avoiding crowded airports, oversold airplanes and high traffic rest stops, which are a hub for germs, is highly recommended.

Wash hands regularly.

This is one of those times when washing your hands frequently is a good thing. The CDC recommends travelers wash their hands often with soap and water or at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

Avoid crowded accommodations / Stay in a private vacation rental home.

By reducing your contact with others, you’ll reduce the chances of being exposed to Corornavirus. Therefore, when it is safe for healthy families to travel, a private South Walton or Destin vacation rental home is a great choice. Rental homes provide more space and a private setting for you and your group to relax and enjoy your vacation with limited public contact. In a vacation rental home, families can avoid eating in busy restaurants by preparing meals at home in the home’s fully-stocked kitchen.
